Movenpick Yorkville closed. What happened?

  • m

I live in the Yorkville area, and I noticed last week-end that Movenpick Yorkville has closed. Is this for good? Why? What happened? I recall Movenpick (on Yorkville) was becoming variable in service and quality of food lately. Anyone with any info? I'm planning to have dinner at Marche this week. How are they doing?

  1. A new restaurant is being built right now and the concept sounds really good. Some good operateurs are involded in the project and this should be a great think for Yorkville. More info should be available very soon on the restaurant's concept. It should re-open in June. For more info please, e-mail me directly.

What's with the secrecy-Is this new concept a matter of national security. Just because you're in the industry doen't mean you can't lighten up a bit!! I've been in the restaurant business for over 20 years.

    2. Don't know what happened on Yorkville and York St. I guess it in part has to do with ongoing dispute between corporate Movenpick (in Europe somewhere) and Richtree, the Canadian franchisee.

I was at Marche a couple of times in January and everything seems normal and fine. Service and service charges are the same as they have always been. I also ate last week at Masquerade which is also owned by Richtree and it was fine too.
