Hi all.

Does anyone know where I can buy gingerbread cookies? A friend of mine visiting Toronto and would like to buy lots to bring home.

Thanks in advance!

ShaSha Bread Company makes great gingerbread cookies. They're available at Costco and Bruno's for sure, but I'm sure other stores in the city carry them.

Loblaws at St Clair/Bathurst used to carry ShaSha Gingerbread in travel containers too. Took a couple home at Christmas last year and whilst bulky, I did not have crumbs at the other end.

Dufflet's makes a really delicious ginger cookie. You didn't say if you wanted soft cookies or snaps, but this one is a soft, thin cookie.

Believe it or not, IKEA has the best gingerbread cookies at their Swedish shop. They're called Anne's gingerbread cookies from Sweden. They come in regular flavour, orange and almond. The cookies are ultra thin, they are delicious and very very cheap. About $1.00 a box.
I think gourmet shops sell them too.

Not Anne's, Anna's Thins. They are also available at Cost Plus and probably many other markets and import places.

              They are incredibly addictive.

my neighbourhood Dominion (church & front) stocks these great 'swedish style' ginger snaps made using organic flour, non-hydrogenated oil and sugarcane juice...they can be found in the organic food section. Also available in vanilla (my fav) and chocolate.
