What are you cooking today?

Chabi sausage?

Bumblegirl Feb 10, 2004 09:09 PM

I bought some the other day, but I was wondering what exactly it is. Is it made of pork? Can I eat it like a cold cut, or do I have to cook it? I quite like it, but I like knowing what I'm eating ;)

When I Googled "Chabi," I got no results. Perhaps you mean Csabai (pronounced "Chabai"), a Hungarian smoked sausage. I suggest that you Google search the words "Csabai + receipe" for more information.

The store label said 'chabi' - I thought it was odd that nothing came up when I tried googling it! Thanks for the tip :)

Chabi sausage is like the hungarian Csabai. You can eat it as a cold cut or you can use it in cooking same way as you use any spicy or regular sausage. (Ex.: fry it with pierogies, purple onion, garlic and finish it with sour cream)
