Good restaurants near Square One in Mississauga

  • l

I need some good recommendations. I went to Moxies Bar and Grill with a couple of friends last week. The food was o.k but the atmosphere was great. I am thinking of going to a restaurant near Square One sometime in the next few weeks. It will be a bunch of friends and I am looking for a place with a great atmosphere, good food, has veggie options and is reasonably priced. I know that the Host has a location there but the group does not feel like having Indian food.

Any suggestions? I would also appreciate it if you can give me the website of the restaurants you recommend.

Thanks

  1. On the Curve. Now I havnt been there in a while but its kinda nice in there. Uhm, the only thing is on the weekend, it changes into a club type of place once around 9:00pm I *think* again, I havnt been there in a while so... other than that, around scare one, you're stuck w/canyon creek/jack astors/alice fazooli's.

oh yeah! almost forgot, Alioli (http://www.menu101.com/alioli/) on the corner of Burnhamthorpe and Confederation (in the PHH building) Italian food. Real nice! It's been there for at least 10 years and I havnt been there since last year (yes, shame on me) and it was really good! On a fri when I went, they had a singer w/her keyboard singing.

While not knowing the area I would appreiciate some good recommedations for restaurants with good food and atmosphere, near the theatre.

Is there a Mandarin near by?

Thank you in advance for your assisance.

        1. Wondering if anyone has any updates on Square One and immediate area. We are meeting friends and the group would be fine with good beer options and good food. Nothing fancy. A chain will work for this gathering. Something in or very close to,the mall.
I don't know this area very well. Is West 50 okay? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

The restaurants right by Square One are all ok. Not great but decent... to get one that has best beer options of them all and ok food, West 50 would be your best choice. For more consistent food and moderate beer options, Canyon Creek outside of Square One isn't bad.

Thanks for the help. One couple if the group has decided on Jack Astor's.

Hm... I won't be too harsh on Jack Astors but if the couple likes more pub greasy foods and you're looking for good food, I suggest Earls instead. It's better food than JA but still similar enough in their offerings.

          2. Earl's inside of Square One or Alice Fazooli's just outside would be ideal..

Alice Fazooli closed a while back. It is now Scaddabush... Think of it as a more hip attempt of Alice Fazooli. Or at least trying to be!
