Sunday lunch near the Hummingbird

We are looking for a good place to have a 1 to 1 1/2 hour lunch before the opera on Sunday. Many of the places are open only for dinner or not at all on Sundays. We thought of Jamie Kennedy's but it sounds like more time is needed. Thanks

I would recommend going to C'est What pub for a hot lunch and if you're lucky, some good music. It's a nifty little subterranean bar at Church and Front.

If Asian food is more to your liking, there is always Spring Rolls which is located next door to the LCBO (steps from St. Lawrence Market).

Both are reasonable and offer reliable service.

C'est What has not bad pub food and great beers on tap. I don't mind Shopsy's or the Marche if speed and location is your # 1 concern. Also, up the street is the Irish Embassy (on yonge) check their hours but the food is usually good for pub fare.
