ISO restaurant or bar with private room

I'm organizing a farewell party for a friend who is leaving for England in March. I am interested in finding a place where I can host this, preferably a pub with a private area for drinks and mingling. We will probably number 20. I thought originally that the private room at Dora Keogh would work but it is too small.

Downtown area preferred. Non-smoking if possible at all.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions that you may have.

PJ O'Brien's on Colbourne Street (behind the King Eddie) has a private room upstairs that is quite nice.

Also, the Duke of York on Prince Arthur (in the Annex) has a number of rooms that can accomodate groups. It is stumbling distance to the St. George subway station.

this is an excellent question....there should be more places. This might be a little small, but if you call Runyx on Dundas at Bay and reserve their back room, for $12 per hour you get a private room with fireplace and pool table with free pool! For a group that size they told me they would waive the charge, so give them a call.
