Yakiniku, Shabu-shabu, Tonkotsu Ramen

Does anyone know of any restaurants that serve these dishes? I'm looking for places preferrably in the west end, but I don't mind travelling if the food is fantastic.

Up at Pacific Mall (actually, the little mall next to it on Steeles, east of Kennedy - something with Heritage in the name), in the food court, there's a stall with a dozen or so spots set up for shabu-shabu. Found it a fun eating experience.

Try NIJO restaurant. It's in Greenwin Square (just west of Sherbourne, on Bloor E (south side) -- right beside the Swiss Chalet.

It is probably the last place on earth you would find the freshest sushi in town for a wonderful price, great Yakiniku and Tonkatsu Ramen.

Miso soup is made from scratch. Salmon is delivered every other day. Teriyaki sauce made from scratch.

The wife handles hot foods, the dad handles the suchi bar. If you want to order a hot food item and the wife is not there - let them know you want to wait until she gets back to cook your food. Ditto for the sushi chef.

This is a fantastic place - situated in the unlikeliest of all venues.

Thank you for the recommendation! I went to Nijo for lunch today and had tempura shrimps. It was very fresh and delicious. I am looking forward to returning and trying their sushi and other delicacies.
