What do Chowhounds think of Bistro 990? I am planning a lunch with a friend in the Yonge-Bloor area. We are looking for a nice restaurant, where we can carry on a conversation without having to shout. We have been to Pangaea and Senses (no longer there). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Brown Stone is nice for casual eats, but possibly a bit loud. Next door and sharing a kitchen but with high class eats than Brown Stone is Solo with a gorgeous ceiling mural which is low for good conversation. It's on Yonge, East side about a 5 min walk south of Bloor.
The Indian Restaurant on Wellesley East (just east of Yonge) is very good. Name stumps me,.. I'll post again if I remember.
