Oysters in Toronto - Shucking contests

  • c

Where does everyone go to get the best oysters, either at a supermarket or restaurant that's not too pricey? I go to a bar called Smokeless Joes on John Street near Richmond, excellent service, fresh oysters, more than 180 beers to choose from, nice warm atmosphere and no smoking! I've tried Rodney's, Starfish and Oyster Boy. As well, when are there shucking contests? Where are they held and at what time of the year do they usually happen? Let me know! THANKS in advance...

  1. Rodney's Oyster House is having an event this weekend.

    1. I have to say the Smokeless is my favourite after work bar -- the beer selection is outstanding, and they have a nice selection of scotch as well (a few choice ones, a small but good selection). Back to oysters: I'm almost certain Smokeless gets their oysters from Rodney's.
