Kobe/Wagyu Beef In Toronto?

Alex Jun 15, 2003 12:33 PM

Does anyone know of a butcher that sells (or can order) Kobe/Wagyu beef? This is somewhat urgent.

I'd appreciate it very much. Thanks for your time!

Pusateri's on Avenue Rd was carrying in the summer, give them a call and see if they still are.

You can get wagyu at Ozawa Canada in Richmond Hill (on East Beaver Creek, north of Highway 7). They have Chinese customers who buy $500 worth of wagyu at a time. Aside from Japanese food, Ozawa also sells all sorts of Japanese housewares, restaurant supplies, etc. - both wholesale and retail. I vaguely recall that the store was mentioned in the Food section of the Toronto Star several months ago.

I've been told that Pusateri's has some from time-to-time. Give them a call.

I just did a quick search and apparently Kobe Steakhouse sells it on their menu (or at least they used to). You might be able to find out where they get it from.
