Breakfast between Pearson and Niagara?

TheColonel Jun 12, 2003 11:18 AM

I'm picking up a friend at Pearson early on Saturday morning, and then we're heading to Niagara for some touring and wine tasting. Can anyone recommend a good place for breakfast between the airport and, say, Hamilton? Somewhere close to the highway, preferably.

Try the dining room at the Ramada, just off the QEW in Oakville. I usually eschew hotel dining rooms but this pleasantly surprised me on a recent stopover. It seems to be run by a German family as a concession.

A wee bit out of the way, but the best breakfast in Etob. is at Dundas St. Grille 5238 Dundas St W. J/W of Kipling

I ended up at the Breakwater, which is in the Waterside Inn in Port Credit. Nice view of the port, good linen, attentive service - though it probably helped that the place was deserted. Eggs benny were what they should be, and scrambled eggs on crustless toasted pumpernickel topped with big slabs of house-smoked salmon was tip-top. Good coffee too.
