I just came back from Germany in mid-May, and overindulged on fresh white asparagus. I have tried many of the Chinese greengrocers in Toronto, but nothing. Does anyone know if it is possible to get white asparagus in TO?

I've seen white asparagus in NUMEROUS supermarkets in the past 2 weeks...Pusateri's, Longo's on York Mills/Leslie, Loblaw's Queen's Quay, and St. Lawrence Market.

Call ahead to just confirm they still have them, but like I said, I've been to all these places in the last 2 weeks and have seen them there. The most freshest to tell you the truth were the ones at Longo's.

Happy Eats!

I bought it today at the Loblaw's at gerrard and vic park. It was 5.99 a pound.I boiled it for 4 mins with salt, then put lemon rind, lemon juice, garlic and butter in a fry pan and sauteed for 3 mins. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve. Simple and fantastic!
