Yonge Street pastry shops

  • m

Last time I drove up Yonge I noticed the FleurdeLys Patisserie around Eglimton and a shop with Cupcake in the name. Forgot the rest of the name and can't even recall what intersections it's near. But it's on the north end of Yonge.

Anybody tried either of these places? Any comments?

  1. I have been to FleurdeLys Patisserie a couple of times and would highly recommend it! Be sure and try the triple chocolate mouse square! FleurdeLys is a few blocks south of Eglinton on the West side of Yonge. The place is a bit like Rahier's - good looking and great tasting pastries.
I haven't noticed the "cupcake" place.

I don't know the exact address, but I noticed the cupcake place while walking south on Yonge from sporting Life to Eglinton(on the East side).Haven't tried it though.

    2. The Cupcake store is called "Cupcake Store" or "Cupcake Shoppe" with a soft pink awning. It's located on Yonge, North of Eglinton across the street from Future Shop.

The decor is a la Martha Stewart and very eye appealing. The cupcakes are over priced and not worth the visit in my opinion. One cupcake sells for $2.50 and half a dozen for $13. This price would be acceptable if it was quality pastry. However the cupcakes taste like they are from a Dunkin Hinds bake kit. Very disappointing.

There's something quite trendy about showing up to a friend's house with cupcakes rather than a bottle of wine, but trust me, your frieds will get more enjoyment out of the wine.

$2.50 for a cupcake that would taste better if it were made with Duncan Hines mix! (Actually, it may be, but they somehow screw it up). Save your money and get an apple pie at McDonalds better,

        1. Be happy! The Cupcake Shoppe is located at 1417 Yonge Street, North of Eglinton, East side. My daughter (who is a cupcake addict) says that they sell the very best she ever had. From what I understand, prices go according to the quality. But it seems to be pure delight.
