There is a restaurant on the Danforth called Mayette's that I have not been to but seems to be well known and highly thought of by some Filipinos that I know.

wow, thank you for your replies.
I'll definitely try the ones mentioned.
I keep hearing about Remely's. I plan on going there sometime this weekend!

      Thanks again!

Well, I live in Scarborough and Remely's is always popular. Avoid Sunday's as lots of Filipino's go there after church and the line-up can be long.

One of the most popular foods is the BBQ.

Remely's is located on Sheppard Ave E. (north side), between McCowan and Markham....same plaza as Tim Horton's

Don't know how good it is, but one that is relatively central is Nayong Philipino Garden on Parliament south of Wellesley in Cabbagetown.

There's a really good filipino bbq restaurant in Mississauga if you're willing to drive out there. It's called Asian Flavour and it's in a little plaza on Creditview. It's just south of Britannia. I haven't tried any other their other food, but all i know is that their bbq is cheap (1.25) and addictive.

thanks for the post! I've just been assigned out here to mississauga's northwest territory - near the Royal Bank building, and finding filipino food seems to be a challenge out here. maybe i'm just spoiled by the ease with which living in toronto allows me to indulge in pinoy food.

anyway, just tried the pinakbet (veggie stew with a bit of pork) and the binagoongan (won't bother explaining) - wasn't bad, comfort food-wise. i'll try the bbq and palabok tomorrow.

Thanks for this post. Went to Asian Flavour today and had a nummy lunch plate (only $3.99!) of rice, pinakbet, and bbq pork. Yummy.

If you keep travelling past Remely's on Sheppard, just past Markham Rd., there is also another eatery/store called Barrio Fiesta, try their empanadas and menudo.

Gold Ribbon on Kennedy just south of Steeles is also another place to visit, some good eats there.

Jeff, mentioned in the Toronto Star article about Golden Valley on Ellesmere before Birchmount on Principal Rd. Absolutely go on Saturdays, that is the best time to go, and go early because it fills up fast.

Also try along Wilson west of Bathurst for Aristokrat and 3 other stores that have pretty good eats, just as for what they have on special. They also make pretty good halo-halo, good for a summer day.

You could also try Tamarind @ Yonge & Wellesley. It's a tiny little spot - good food - but like many places pan-asian with Thai to entice the crowds in... but they serve a Filipino BREAKFAST from 7:30a-11:30a.
