  1. Sassafraz has a wonderful beef carpaccio. Quoted from the menu:

Black Angus Beef Carpaccio, Shaved over Baby Arugula, Cherry Tomatoes, Young Onion Sprouts, Honey–Pommery Mustard Vinaigrette.

    Very nice.

    1. Hi elizabeth,

Sorry for the interruption! Our General Topics board (link below) is the place to swap recipes.

We try to keep this board focused on the chow scene in Toronto, so this is the place to ask about where you can find carpaccio in the area, but for suggestions on how to make it, go on over to that board and post a query.

Thanks for the link, i'll check it out. But I am also interested in hearing opinions on carpaccio in TO restaurants. I order it whenever it is on the menu and I have experienced the good, the bad and the ugly.

I had some fantastic carpaccio tonight at Terroni's on Queen street. Tender shaved beef. Freshly cut paragian cheese. I found the arugula to be a little bitter, but it was drizzled with the tastiest olive oil I have ever had the pleasure to eat. Yumm.

Donatello on Elm Street has very good carpaccio. Most of the items on the menu are nicely done and the atmosphere is very good during dinner.

        2. Barolo's is a great restaurant that you never hear about but seems to have been there for years. Great place for a romantic dinner. Old school waiters, great service.
