The T (Tea?) Spot

I went to The T (or is it Tea?) Spot (located on the lower level of the Bay on Queen Street) for lunch today and had probably one of the best salads I have ever eaten in my life - baby spinach, grilled pears, candied pecans and parmesan cheese in a light vinaigrette. I also had their Mango and Avocado salad a few weeks ago. It's a bit expensive ($5.95 for a smallish salad) but it is so good that it makes you forget the price. I haven't had any of their other food. Has anyone else been there? Has anyone tried their tortas?
I have been there, and I must admit the food is really very good. I tend to get the goat cheese tora with carmelized onion and then just whatever salad looks good. Their salads are great especially since they tend to be really fresh. Overall a great spot for downtowners who want something better than your basic food court stuff!
I must admit I love the take away containers that they use since they are all reusable.
I had one of their tortas, and while not great it certainly was good. Even better was the spinach salad with cranberries and Stilton. I've been meaning to go back there. Oh, and I second the point about the containers.
I tried the Goat Cheese tart today... with a wonderful mixed baby greens salad with portobello mushroom. They were offering a complimentary sample of a loose leaf green tea..MMMmmm... Under 10 bucks... not bad
The tart was deeeeeeeelicious...with sundried tomato and a hint of prune..
This is one of my favorite restaurants in TO -- mainly for the mango chicken salad, but the tortas are very good too. So is the pear and pecan salad...and, for that matter, everything else I've ever tried there!
