Best spot for fish and chips in Boston?
Looking for English style, beer battered.

  1. The Druid, in Inman Sq., Cambridge.
Best pub food in the Boston area.

Agreed. I had it last week and it's as good as ever.

Druid is excellent! I also enjoy Tavern at the End of the World for less money, but the Druid does rule.

At the risk of redundancy: yep, Druid.

          2. re: Blumie

Definitely the Druid...and it's a truly generous portion too.

          3. Highland Kitchen, Somerville.

Best I've had is at Grafton Street Pub

Yes! Island Creek churns out a good plate, too. Am looking forward to trying the Druid.

            2. Publick House in Brookline is also quite good

              1. The Haven in JP used to be good and I have heard it is still pretty excellent - was the most authentic place in Boston to get a chippie when we lived there

                1. Thanks for the recommendations. Decided to try highland kitchen. Mostly because of the interesting other menu items.
Fish and chips were really good. Nice batter and the chips were hand cut and crispy. Friend had the goat stew. It was amazing. goat meat was tender, curry spice was good. Not too hot, but just enough.
But for me, and laugh if you will, the buffalo Brussels sprouts were the best thing I ate. Halved sprouts, lightly battered and fried. Coated in a great version of buffalo sauce.

So thanks again for the replies, next time I feel the need to eat fish and chips, going to try the druid.

Not laughing here. I love those brussel sprouts.

I literally haven't had the fish and chips at HK in years-may have to give it a shot again.
