solo casual breakfast soho, village, nolita

I'm looking for a casual place to have a good breakfast alone. The type of place where you can sit with the paper, have a great egg sandwich and coffee and not feel bothered. Cozy but neither pretentious nor nondescript. Should be in a ten block radius from bleecker and laguardia.

  1. If Doma was still around, that would have been perfect.

Oh my gosh, thrilling! Thanks for letting me know!

    1. I love Ceci Cela but they don't do eggs and such. Basically great for a leisurely continental breakfast. Amazing croissants. They do have quiche.

That's a great spot, though I'm definitely looking for an egg sandwich. Thanks for the suggestion!

      2. If you're talking weekdays, you can do that at the Smile, Lafayette, Cafe Gitane, Il Buco Alimentari. Weekends you'd probably be overwhelmed by people, unless you go early.

        1. Buvette- same comment, go on a weekday or wknd early. The steamed scrambled eggs are light fluffy eggy clouds- just get a side of toast for a diy sandwich. You can linger without worry.

ah, i know them from The Plaza and Hudson Eats, where they're open early and serving breakfast.
