My first stop after checking in at the hotel was Borgne. I have no idea how to pronounce the name - someone told me later it's pronounced "born."

I ordered four courses for lunch: (1) half dozen broiled oysters, (2) grilled octopus with hummus, (3) fried calamari with squid ink, and (4) half portio of oyster spaghetti with botarga.

The oysters were wonderful, the octopus was the perfect texture (tender but not mushy), and the calamari was expertly fried (Italian style - very crispy and light breading - the name of the dish "salt & pepper calamari" may have suggested Chinese style seasoning and cooking but it wasn't). The dishes were generally seasoned aggressively - erring if any on the salty side. The only one that went over the line was the oyster spaghetti, which may be attributed to the botarga (which adds alot of saltiness to the dish). Also, the spaghetti was overcooked (I don't know if the pasta was made in-house or not).

Overall a fantastic lunch and I wouldn't hestitate to go back.
