Has anyone been to "Mission Cheese"? [San Francisco]

Experiences, and any media from this eatery?

    1. I went there for cheese and wine and liked it a lot, have been meaning to go back.

      1. Mission Cheese is great! They bring in artisan American cheese from across the US, so there's quite a selection and the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. They have great wine and beer pairings, too. My only complaint is that the cheese portions are pretty small for the price, but since my money is going to such a great place and supporting small cheese producers, I don't think it's a huge issue.

        1. Does anyone think it is better than buying cheese at Rainbow?

Does Rainbow have Vermont Creamery Coupole?

I'm pretty sure I've seen it there in the small case adjoining the cutting area.

As a cheese shop, I'm not sure it's better than Rainbow, but as a wine bar with cheese, it's great.

Thank you for the clear and useful opinion. I'll have to check it out next time I am in town.

I prefer it more as a cheese shop, as I find the staff incredibly knowledgeable and informative, the selection great and their storage impeccable. Its also closer to my house than Rainbow, so I can't really comment on a comparison as I don't get to Rainbow much and am not so into the hippy vibe. I thought their cheese plates were a little skimpy.

I thought the cheese plates were quite generous compared with most wine bars.
