Del Sur, an empanada restaurant which focuses on take-out, will be on the Billerica line, and Wegman's target date is Oct. 26.

Nowhere near there. Same side of the street but on the Billerica line, according to the link.

THis will be located right near Lester's.

    2. grey, any word on the new empanada place; have you tried them yet?thx.

I passed by there a couple of weeks ago and saw no signs of any work being done to outfit the location for food prep. There was still a for lease sign in one of the two vacant stores.

      2. The Burlington Wegmans is going to be a madhouse... I wouldn't venture anywhere near it for a month..

thx much for that warning; didn't know anyth about it.

          1. re: grant.cook

I'm not sure about this. Given that the two existing locations haven't turned out to be the game changers the early hype swore they would be, I'm not convinced that the Burlington location is going to be all that insane past the opening weekend. At most, it might make it slightly easier to get around the Burlington Market Basket for a week or two. (Absolutely nothing would ever make it easier to maneuver around the Burlington H-Mart.)

True.. and I am sure off hours will be fine. Just don't try to come north on Lowell Road - getting past the MB and H-Mart and other plazas is a nightmare as it is..

Many of the newer generations of smartphones have GPS apps that take current traffic conditions into account and will automatically reroute you to less congested routes. I've taken some fairly odd back roads to the Burlington MB as a result -- could be worth a look for those who dread that endless crawl on the Middlesex Turnpike.

            2. re: grant.cook

Now the Middlesex Tpk will be a parking lot in both directions from 128, not to mention what will happen once Christmas shopping gets started at the Burlington Mall. I may not get to Wegman's until January.

I have not been in that area for a few weeks but as of a month or so ago, there was no sign of any work being done in the empty storefront.

I'd say the website is not quite ready for prime time.

                    1. re: bear

The map shows 390 Cambridge ROAD in Woburn instead of STREET in Burlington so...yeah...the punch list remains to be addressed, pun intended.

hmmmm, grey, i nosed around on google after i posted, and found nothing. you must have some special talents to come up with this one! but i am already calming my fires because, IF those empanada photos are of their actual product, the pastry component looks all wrong. looks like pizza dough, not the flaky short crust i was hoping for.(There is an empanadas chain in D.C. that has tough dead dough like that.) Of course, those could just be generic shots, like all the others on the pre-site.
                      But then again, i don't know WHY i need another empanada other than Tango's-- which are excellent(the beef ones, that is)and a very short drive from me.I just need to order me a new supply ;-}

second time driving by. First time, i saw the DelSur and their logo share a taste and I couldn't figure out what kind of store it was. Went on chowhound to learn that they sell empanadas. It's in the weird plaza that has limited parking. I passed by today at around 4. It was closed.

                1. Passed by there today, and noticed a permit with a large letter B in orange, posted on the door. So presumably not yet completed or open.
