"off hours" at The Purple Pig

We will be staying a few blocks from The Purple Pig later this month and I've read many recommendations for this restaurant. Many posts recommend going at "off hours" to avoid a long wait. Would 9:00PM on a Wednesday night be considered an "off time"? I'm not sure what time the dinner rush typically subsides.

  1. I've heard that the rush typically diminishes around 10, but have never been there at that hour so I'm not sure about that.

I've found no waiting in the afternoon starting around 1:30.

Of course, if you're only a few blocks away, you can walk over and see. Or, you can phone them any time and ask how long the wait is. Try it at 9 pm tonight and it will probably be typical for that hour on a weekday.

    1. I walked in at about 4 on Wednesday and got a spot with no problem (at the bar, but there were tables, too); it was the perfect time for a cocktail and a snack. When I left at 5, there was a wait.

      1. I was there on a week night about 5:15 before an "alumni Wendella cruise" just up the block. We called first to be sure, but our wait was only about 15 minutes and dinner was perfectly wonderful. Glad you reminded me. I want to go back!
