DC visit in November
Hello all! I'll be visiting DC for 3 days the weekend of November 1st. I'm coming from NYC, and staying in the Dupont Circle area.
My itinerary pretty much focuses on the Capitol Hill and National Mall area during the day. I'm a fan of exciting food, I will try anything at least once, budget is about $50-$70 per meal including tax/tip. I'll take the train anywhere within the DC area, just not out to Virginia.
Is there anything that I need to try that's quintessential DC food? How about seafood? Are there any good coffee places? We have Intelligentsia and Blue Bottle in NYC, something along those lines. I've been reading about Filter Coffee in Dupont Circle.
Thanks in advance!
Saturday would include:
-Library of Congress
-Lunch at Eastern Market around 12:30PM/1PM (is it worth it?)
-Various monuments on the Mall.
Back to the hotel and then travel for dinner at Daikaya Izakaya (again, is it worth it?)
-Back to the National Mall area for various museums
-Lunch at Hanks Oyster bar?
-More museum hopping
-Dinner at Le Diplomate which isn't too far from my hotel
I pretty much have the whole morning and part of the afternoon to explore DC. I haven't worked out which train I would take back to NYC, but it would be a later train which would allow me a last lunch.
