Omnivore World Tour

  • 5

Has anyone been to the restos in Montreal before? Since we can't get into APDC or JB, we were considering Lawrence for supper on one evening during the special souper. We want atmosphere but great food.

  1. Lawrence has a nice atmosphere.

I think Petter Nilsson, the invited chef, is a good chef.

IMO, It will be northern/Scandinavian cuisine.

It's Marc Cohen and Giorgio Ravelli.

        You are probably right.

I cannot find the page where it was Nilsson @ Lawrence

        (crappy SAT web site).

    2. What's the party like (where they do apps and small dishes)?

I seem to recall reports that it was overly crowded.

See last year's report in this thread: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/881612

"For us it really was't worth it last year. We arrived an hour after the begining and most chefs had run out of food, and everyone was cramming around the few stations that still had some food. I got to taste 4 or 5 things out of the dozen or so that was announced. We left hungry enough to go eat somewhere else, and feeling ripped off as well"

IMO, other than invited chefs Florent Ladeyn and Giorgio Ravelli; there is nothing worth all the crowd.
