late dinner between Albany airport and Coxsackie

  • 9

Our scheduled arrival at ALB is 8:40 pm on a Thursday. I haven't found many restaurants that are open past 9 pm in the area. Our bed for the night is in West Coxsackie - can anyone suggest a good place for a late bite on the way? Pub food would be OK, anything but the dreaded chains.

  1. You won't find much of anything open once you collect your luggage and get on the road, besides the chains (the usual suspects plus a few others) on Wolf Road near the Albany airport. Perhaps the Blu Stone Bistro in the Hotel Indigo on Albany Shaker Road stays open that late.

      Thanks, Mike. Blu Stone might work - it looks like they're open till 10.

        I have not been yet. The location is ideal and they are open until 11 pm (enough time to collect the luggage, get there and order). The Yelp perspective:

      2. At Stuyvesant Plaza, both Provence and Creo serve until 10. Closer to Albany, The Ginger Man is open until 11. Even closer to the airport, both Reel Seafood and Barnsider serve until 10.

            Don't know if the poster's already made his trip, or if he's checked luggage, but luggage or no, it would be a rush to land at 8:40 and make it to Coxsackie by 10.

              Thanks for looking out for me, PSZaas. My flight isn't until Sep 18 and we will be checking luggage. Your Stuvesant Plaza suggestions look like good options for us.

                Agree with PSZaas, dining closer to Albany is smart thinking.

                Creo, Provence and The Gingerman are all very good suggestions. Not too far from the airport and easy to get back on the road after a "late bite."

                You might want to consider a diner:

                Latham 76 Diner (open 24/7

                )

                Circle Diner (Latham, hours?)

                Route 7 Diner (close to airport, hours?) across from Keeler.

            2. re: Gastronomos

              Thanks, Gastro, but PSZaas is right. I don't want to chance driving to Coxsackie and having no options at that hour. I'll be there for a couple days, so I'll give Paul's a shot another night.
