Vertical: Sale or Relocation?

Always seemed like a money maker to me.

  1. Although there's nothing current on their website, I got an e-mail from BistroLQ the other day indicating that there are plans for an expansion so it sounds like it's going to be a relocation.
Edit: Having read the comment section of the article you cited, it appears that the resto is no longer up for public sale but has been transferred to Laurent Quenioux who's been overseeing the food program there (and holding his semi pop-up "Foodings" there) ever since his eponymous restaurant on 3rd st. closed its doors 6 or 7 years ago...

"I just spoke to Chef Laurent to get this clarified. Found out that the restaurant is no longer up for sale to the public. It will be sold to Chef Laurent and another new partner. Name of the restaurant will remain the same. For those of you who are fans of LQ's popups, have no fear! Chef Laurent confirmed that the "pop ups" will continue and there are plans in the works for new exciting things at Vertical Wine!"

That would make sense if 399k was truly an epic price.

ns1 - here is said ABC posting of Friday, August 8, with said partner mentioned, yet no mention of LQ, which is really no surprise.

Yes, it will continue at the same location, yet would probably be better off in another nearby location, preferably at street level.

    2. For what it's worth, over the past 10 days or so I have continued receiving chef LQ's emails promoting upcoming events at Vertical, so they must be operating at some level.
