Best Grill Substitution

Kind of stupid question but: Trying to make cajun chicken and don't have any grill, would cooking it on a pan affect it or is it okay?

  1. I would use a cast iron skillet if you have one.

    1. Cast iron griddle works the best, though cast iron skillet is acceptable.

      1. Assuming that you mean chicken with Cajun spices an oven broiler would work well.

        1. Ditto the cast iron - and/or broiler. Basically, you want high heat so either heating a cast iron griddle or skillet for a while (like 20 minutes) before cooking or using the high direct heat of a broiler can work. I have a tiny old gas stove, so when I want to 'grill' something I heat my skillet in the oven set to Broil for and then pop the chicken in that under the broiler.
