Post under the post I'm replying to disappears...

I just replied to this post:

And as soon as I hit the "POST" button, the post directly under it -- at the moment by cowboyardee -- disappeared from the screen.

Upon reloading the page, his post reappeared. I posted a second post to see if I could reproduce the issue, and indeed I could. So definitely a bug.

FireFox 31.0 running on Windows 7 SP1.

  1. Thanks for the report, davis_sq_pro. Looks like it's happening in Firefox regardless of operating system. We'll look into it!

    1. What I'm finding is that my replies sometimes disappear when I hit "POST." I thought maybe I was hitting "CANCEL" by mistake, but now I'm sure that's not the case. Reloading doesn't bring my reply back -- it's gone forever. I've taken to copying my reply before hitting "POST," so I can re-post it, if necessary. FWIW, I'm using Chrome.

And I've just begun to notice that sometimes there's a "CANCEL" option to the left of "POST" and sometimes there is not. Why is that?

Hi CindyJ, that's disconcerting that you're losing your posts. I'm replying in Chrome and not having an issue, but we'll keep an eye on this. You might try checking if you're running any browser extensions that could be causing interference, things like Adblock or Ghostery. Sometimes adjusting the settings in those add-ons resolves posting issues.

It doesn't happen every time, Deborah. And I'm being mindful to click way over to the right side of the "POST" box. That said, it's happened enough times over the past couple of days that I've been copying every post I write before I click "POST."

It just happened to me again -- TWICE -- in the past hour or so.
