I heard the Maiko Sushi on Bernard caught on fire the Friday that just past. Does any one have any details on how bad the damage was? If they plan to re-open any time soon? I was planning to go there next week-end but I guess I will have to go else where.

Thanks,
Sandra

I have to say that Maiko has decent sushi...only problem is that their service is really really abominable. I have gone there on 3 seperate occasions with different groups of friends and we always walked away pissed at the wait staff. With so many great sushi places in Montreal as an alternative like Mikado, I have given up on this place. Its a shame.

I like Maiko quite a bit too. It happens to be our neighborhood sushi spot, but even then we have some choices around us and we choose Maiko because of the freshness, price point (less expensive than Mikado and WAY less then Jun-I), and creative touches. They also have a pretty good lunch special. Service is decent if not stellar.
