The Best Pancakes and Waffles in the Monterey Area

  • 5

Wondering who makes the best pancakes and waffles in the area, Monterey, Pacific Grove and Carmel? Have tried Katy's and First Awakenings, enjoyed both. Any others worthy of consideration? Thanks for your help.

  1. Might give Toastie's in PG a try, across from Passionfish and the Post Office on Lighthouse.

Toastie's, we've driven by there several times and convenient to our hotel. Any thoughts on Old Monterey Cafe or the Wagon Wheel in Carmel Valley? Thanks PB!

OMC was my other go to place, esp. if I had to be in DT Monterey also had a great breakfast at WW, however haven't been back to either one in several years.

Maybe a local or more frequent visitor will chime in, I'd like an update also.

        Cheers,

        Dave

I love Wagon Wheel -- cash only for an old-fashioned American style breakfast until 2 pm. No recollection of waffles and haven't tried the pancakes. . . stick to basics here.

I usually share some humongous breakfast platter of eggs, breakfast meats, toast, with a girlfriend . We avoid weekends and usually go after the 12 noon rush so we can linger while we catch up on each other's doings.

+1 for toasties and wagon wheel- just be sure you're hungry!
