Nice, France lunch after airport arrival

On Saturday September 20 we (four 60-somethings) will arrive at Nice airport about 12:30 after a trans-Atlantic flight, rent a car and drive to our hotel on Cap Ferrat. Where do you suggest for lunch? Practicality will trump cuisine. We may not get on the road until 1:30 or 2. When do restaurants/cafes stop serving lunch? What about security with luggage in our car?

  1. Drive straight to Cap Ferrat. Have lunch at Plage Paloma; I believe they serve nonstop all afternoon and the fish is as good as anything you will find in Nice. Arguably the best beach on the cote d'azure as well.

    1. Paloma beach is a good suggestion, but getting there etc may be too much in your jetlagged condition and you could save it for another day. It somewhat depends on where your hotel is. If it is close to the center of St-Jean, you could walk to the port where there are several restaurants along the front serving cuisine typical of the region; they're not great, but it would be a good start.

      1. How does Paloma compare to the beach clubs and restaurants on La Garoupe? I will be with young children and want to do a beach day but also have a nice lunch.

Do you also know of any restaurants near La Columbe D 'Or that are kid friendly with typical French country cuisine (nothing fancy)

It's been some time since I've been in St. Paul de Vence, but I googled your question and there seem to be quite a few choices. Check this out:
