Restaurant near the Ritz for excellent food with a baby

We're going to a wedding at the Ritz over Labor Day weekend. Would love to go out for an excellent meal within walking distance with our 2 month old. Basically somewhere we can show up at 5:30 and if she cries, it isn't the end of the world. Would love some Mediterranean fare or seafood, especially if there are good oysters.

  1. The Sansom street oyster house is right around the corner.

    1. The Oyster House is great. We often see children and babies there. Can't beat the oysters! It's no longer called the "Sansom Street Oyster House" - there is one by that name over near Univ of Penn, that's not the one you want. This one is on Sansom St. between 15th and 16th Sts. No reservations.

The oyster house by Penn is Doc Magrogan's Oyster House; however, it is on Sansom.

I'll third Oyster House. We've taken our daughter, and they were very accommodating. Of course, common sense always dictates with a young child, but generally speaking, highly recommended.

The Oyster House is great for seafood and good with kids. A safe bet with excellent, really fresh seafood.

My only gripe with OH is that their current pastry chef is not as talented as their previous one. But still a great place to go!

      2. Another recommendation for OH.

One other option would be Parc in Rittenhouse Square, where I have had very good oysters and since it's a large, open-concept type of restaurant crying babies wouldn't be a problem. I have brought my two toddlers' and a friend's there, and probably was a menace to society but never felt as such. ;)
