Trip in October - any great places with decent vegetarian options

My wife and I are very excited about traveling to New Orleans for the first time in mid-October.

She adores seafood and will eat anything. I'm vegetarian and have no need to go to vegetarian restaurants but would like to be able to get more than a salad when we go out. My back up plan is to get a pizza to go or have some bars on hand if I am still hungry.

I definitely want my wife to enjoy turtle soup, gumbo, etc. etc. I have looked at menus and the only one so far that seemed impossible was Cochon Butcher.

Any other suggestions very welcome - I've made note of the music venues mentioned here. Am excited to sketch some of the architecture and walk around a lot. Thanks very much.

  1. There have been several recent threads on vegetarian restaurants in New Orleans. Do a search. In a few of them you may also find comments that many of the main line restaurants will do a vegetarian dish for you.

While not a vegetarian I'll occasionally have a vegetable urge and have a vegetarian meal by selecting apps and sides.
