costco restaurant card deals?

In Rockland Cty. NY Costco sells $100.00 worth of dining cards for $80.00 cost. Aside from
chain rests. like Bonefish they sell Restaurant X restaurants (Peter Kelly owns 4 different ones). Does your Costco carry similar cards for restaurants that you would recommend?

  1. I've noticed warehouses do carry ones for local, non-chain restaurants. For example, I recently saw Iron Bridge Wine Company at Columbia/Elkridge, Maryland.

    1. Yes. Local deals (County Fair, Legoland, a generic $100 face value good at any of 30+ local restaurants, some local spas, gym memberships and movies. All seem to be priced at 80% face value.

Costco cash and membership cards are always available. Those are priced dollar for dollar.

The cards for sale are good for gifting to friends in other parts of the US.

      1. Yep, I'm in the Detroit area and they sell cards for a local chain at a discount

        1. Yes, mostly local chain restaurants. Also discounts to fitness facilities etc.

          1. New Jersey...outer boroughs...upstate Ny...manhatten...long island...can you please tell me if there are any great restaurant cards in your stores?

I don't ever remember seeing any of these cards in the Costcos I frequent (Westbury and other stores on Long Island, Rego Park and Astoria, Queens, and occasionally Westchester and NJ locations). However, I've never really looked for them, either. Are they typically located at checkout?

I'd be surprised if they didn't have them at your store; I've seen them at many stores across the Country. They're actually placards that you take through the checkout process and they retrieve the actual cards from their lockup after you check out (like cameras and jewelry). The placards are not in a fixed location (sometimes near the checkouts, other times near books). My local store (suburban Chicago) probably has 10-20 different options at a given time (McCormick & Schmick's, Pinstripes, local chains, spa certificates, special events).

My wife often meets friends for Happy Hour at McCormick & Schmicks and keeps a card or two in her wallet, just in case.

As mentioned, they are large cards displayed on a rack. Movies are also sold in this fashion. I wish costco offered these opportunities on their web site...they would be a great gift for those in the coverage area.

If I can recall correctly, the Hackensack, NJ store had:

McCormick and Scmick/Oceanaire....Riverside Square, Hackensack, NJ

                    Fleming's ....Edgewater, NJ

I'm pretty sure the vendors require that purchases be made in store.

wish costco offered these opportunities on their web site....

They do...just not what is available on the complete the Peter Kelly restaurants. I also seem to recall Maggianno's, PF Chang's, Rosa Mexicano and Morton's were available too.

gee - thanks fourunder!! We have been talking about trying Wolfgang's in NYC - and didn't realize that Costco had discount cards - but upon reading some reviews of the cards - it seems that I should call the restaurant in question to be assured that they will accept the cards before I purchase them. Thanks for posting that link!
