I'll be at a conference this week at Emory University,(Wed-Fri) do you know any good vegetarian/vegan restaurants nearby? I love all cuisines.

  1. You could try Bhojanic, which serves meat but also does vegetarian Indian. Or Chai Pani, which is a little further in downtown Decatur. There are lots of options in Decatur where they may not have a totally vegetarian menu but will have vegetarian options (thinking No 246, Victory Sandwich, Kimball House, etc). I don't know of any specifically vegan restaurants.

Chai Pani sounds super! Is Decatur ver far? as I'll be taking taxis. Also I found this Soul Vegetarian and am dying to go which would be near me (and are they very far away?)
Soul Veg 2 652 North Highland Ave NE, Atlanta, GA
Soul Veg 1 879 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd SW

thanks so much for your help.

From Emory, my guess is that it's a 5-10 min cab ride to downtown Decatur. Once there, unless the weather is awful, you can walk everywhere.

I haven't been to Soul Vegetarian, but I've never heard good things about it. Cafe Sunflower is the only all-veg restaurant (besides Indian) that I've eaten at. And it isn't close.

It's more of an omnivorous city.

thank you for all your help Ted, really appreciate it. Decatur sounds ideal...

    2. This might be a bit late, but there is an Indian community around the intersection of Scott Blvd and Church St., which is maybe 2 or 3 miles from Emory. There were some vegetarian restaurants there in the past and they may still be there. Maybe worth checking out.

      1. Falafel King is right across the street from the main gate at Emory. Or you can try Mediterranean Grill a few blocks away. Their menus are not all vegetarian or vegan, but the falafel at both places is really good.
