Any fix for sour crab corn soup? Baking soda?

I made a delicious Thai crab and corn soup with coconut milk a few days ago. I tasted it today and it didn't taste as good and tasted really lemony. The soup has lemongrass but I don't think that's it. Someone told me that the corn in corn chowder gives off citric acid as it ages. I did a search online and was thinking of reheating the cold batch of soup and adding baking soda to neutralize the acidity. Anyone have any advice? I really don't want to throw it away!

  1. I think you just have to bite the bullet and throw it away.

    1. Did you taste it the second time when it was Cold? or Heated?

      1. I heated a small portion and and tasted it.

Hmmm. I have never heard of Corn giving off Citric Acid. Are you sure your Soup has not spoiled? Did you eat any other foods immediately before tasting the Soup?
I think that adding Baking Soda would leave its own Flavor some People do not mind it, but I dislike it a lot.
Perhaps adding some addition Puréed Corn would off set the tartness with out altering the flavor as much.

        2. go with it and chuck in some chili-garlic sauce.

          1. Few days, tastes off, involves seafood. .. I would chuck it.
