Overlapping text

The blue print underneath the individual posts is enough for me to give up reading Chowhound. It's extremely distracting and makes reading posts a little difficult. I HOPE this is just an error and will be corrected very soon.

  1. I noticed that happening on a MacBook using Safari. Its the time stamp appearing over the first couple words of text. For what it's worth to the Mods, I do not see it happening on other computers (iMac using Safari and a PC using Chrome).

Yes, happening on MacBook with Safari.

So do I, and I have the same problem.

      1. Wow is it irritating . . . and I can't believe it didn't show up when testing in different environments . . . . Here is a screenshot of MGZ's post so you can see chow people . . . .

We've seen this on occasion as well after Friday's release; we're looking into what might be causing the inconsistencies.

It's extremely irritating. I never realized how often I refer to the date/time stamp. I can't see any of them from my laptop and feel lost.

          2. Hi everyone.

We're not able to reproduce this at all (though we saw it briefly last Friday), which means it's incredibly difficult to troubleshoot. But we are continuing to look into it, promise!

              Mac OSX 10.6.8
              Safari Version 5.1.10 (6534.59.10)

              Just checked Chrome, wasn't happening in Chrome . . . .

              1. re: thimes

Thanks for the comparison and screen shots, thimes. It appears that you're all using version 5 of Safari; we're all running 6 or above here, so maybe it's related to the browser version. We're continuing to investigate.

The problem seems to have gone away or most likely fixed. Thank you if the latter.

You wrote that "about 3 hours ago"!!!

I wrote as soon as I noticed the change. Uh, what's wrong ?

I think they were commenting that they could now read your time stamp because nothing was overlapping it.

              2. Thanks for the feedback here guys. We have a fix live now. Please give a shout if it crops up again in the future.
