Pregnant wife at Yakitoriayas

Going to Tokyo for a few weeks in the fall, and was wondering how accommodating are yakitoriyas in general with my wife requesting her skewers to be cooked a bit longer to medium-medium well instead of medium rare as a safety precaution.

  1. Have you been to any yakitori restaurants that cook to medium rare? I don't remember any that even cook to medium well. All well done (though not dry, of course). (I have had certain dishes that were raw, but those are specified as being raw.)

    i.e. I don't think it will be a problem.

      Quite a few in Roppongi, and Setagaya I've been to where mune is cooked med rare. Even my go to yaktioriya in NY cooks mune, chochin,and hatsu med rare. And I recalled at the shopping complex in Hakata Station a few months back, I had a grilled oyako don and every piece of chicken was med rare.
