Is NJ's "Italian Hot Dog" crazy?

At least Dickie D's got a mention.
No! I loved those dogs and miss them to this day! I admit though that when I tell people about them, they think it sounds odd.
Potatoes and peppers? Nothing Italian about those ingredients! That's a Peruvian hot dog...
A Murphy Style Irish hot dog perhaps?
Articles like this need to have geographical diversity... but I would have liked to see the ripper representing New Jersey.
With regard to the "Italian Hot Dog" -- the HuffPo article says it's a piece of plain pizza crust stuffed with peppers, onions and fried potatoes.... is it still a sandwich if it's wrapped in a piece of pizza crust?
