Dinner with kids near opera house

  • 9

Will be taking two kids (6&12) to a Sunday ,6:30 , performance of the Lion King
Looking for suggestions for a late afternoon meal that kids would find fun.
Does not actually have to be close to Opera house, though it would make things easier.
Thank you so much!

  1. What do your kids like to eat, and what's your budget?
Also, will you be walking, driving, or taking the T to the Opera House?

My first suggestion would be to soak up Chinatown, but I don't know your kids as well as you do! :-)

Will be driving into Boston, parking then walking.

    2. There is Salvatores next door for basic red sauce. If your kids are like my grand kids, Chinatown is not for them. Plenty of places on Washington St and Tremont st where kids palates will be satisfied.

      1. Depending on what your kids find fun - both Papagayo and Fajitas and Ritas are Mexican food nearby the opera house. Nothing special in terms of the chow, but a fun ambiance that could work for children.

        1. Kingston Station has great food and is close by

          1. Specifically, I have taken kids about that age to Dumpling Cafe on Washington St and they LOVED it - you can get a big table with a lazy susan in the middle and fill it up with at least the soup dumplings and something salt and pepper fried - not expensive and very quick / tasty.

            1. I have taken kids to Q Hot Pot and they loved cooking their food in the broth.

              1. Back Deck, just to the right, on the corner of West street, has a fun atmosphere.

                1. When my kids were small and we attended a performance in the area, we would go to East Ocean City. The kids found it very special.
