Molly Maguire's Lansdale, owners filing bankruptcy

I don't think there's been a Molly's post here in a while

The food went downhill along with the service and (no big surprise) it's been pretty empty there for a while

Our last experience was repeated over and over by many of my friends who LOVE the atmosphere, but couldn't tolerate the slow and borderline rude service, coupled with mediocre food.

My daughter got the fish and chips, the fish was slimy and smelled funny, totally greasy, literally inedible. Our waitress abandoned us, she wasn't even the one to deliver the food.
I got up and went over to another waitress to ask for assistance with the bad fish and by the time anyone else came to the table, I was just so "done" with the whole situation

I shared my meal with my daughter while we were waiting (a reuben which was soggy and barely warm in the middle

)

the fish was never taken off the check and I wasn't about to argue, we just wanted OUT!

I don't know what to think about the bankruptcy filing. it's a beautiful building and I really felt that Lansdale needed something "like this" but you can't have this type of a business and survive with bad food and bad service.

  1. Thanks for the link. A friend of mine worked there when they first open and left due to dispute with management. The food was inconsistent both at the Phoenixville and the Lansdale locations (never went to Downingtown). What was not clear from the article was whether they were continue to operate. They filed a chapter 11, rather than a chapter 7. Are they open at the moment?

      they were open Thursday last week, a friend of mine went (and promptly left after being seated and waiting twenty minutes without even a drink order placed)
      it's no wonder!

    2. Agreed completely cg. When Molly's first opened we enjoyed going there--the food was pretty good, the service was friendly and the atmosphere was fun (especially on the upstairs outdoor deck).

      Then a year or so after it opened, food quality and service started to decline. I don't think I've been there in two years or more. It's a shame, when it first opened it was a great spot for happy hours. I guess my coworkers and I weren't the only ones who grew tired of the place.

      I'd love to see someone take it over--the building is beautiful and it has plenty of parking.

      1. All three locations were in the bankruptcy section of the Inquirer yesterday.
