Good restaurants in Southern Vermont?

My family and I will be in the Mount Snow area this August 8th - 11th. Any restaurant recommendations for the area? We are quite flexible and enjoy all types of food.

  1. Tj Buckly's in Brattleboro is upscale and fun. Around 15 minutes south on 91, I also really like Hope and Olive in Greenfield. Well-prepared farm to table with GREAT cocktail and beer list. Have fun!

Those would be my choices too, though Greenfield of course is not in Vt.

      1. Peter Havens, Fireworks, Whetstone all in brattleboro

        1. In addition to the great Brattleboro area suggestions, I'll add Top of the Hill Grill. Really good BBQ (pork & brisket), but they have a huge menu so for kids or others who are picky/not pure carnivores there are many other offerings. Burritos, chicken sandwich, etc. There is some covered dining area but this is a place best enjoyed on a nice day as the view and setting is "outdoorsy" in a great way.

It is very family-friendly. Mac n' cheese and burgers and dogs and chicken for the kids if they're not into brisket & pig. When I've been there seems like kids are always around.

I've stopped there a few time last couple of years and always loved the food, but more recently a buddy and I did the Mudder (May 29) at Mt. Snow and stopped at Top of the Hill on the way back to NH, and holy-sh*t if that didn't hit the spot. We probably looked like cave-men gobbling down the meats.
