Sounds like u need a double joy juice too!

            1. re: jessejames

Tell me about this "double joy juice," please.

              1. re: JeMange

I find a mai tai extra shot of rum goes nice with the hot wings. Some like dirty xtra olives. What's your summer drink? Make it a double

Gotcha. At that place, I tend to stick with beer.

          2. If you are ever in the mood for breakfast for dinner there is a really charming little neighborhood place called the Mustard Seed Cafe that would be a perfect choice. What about that newer Chinese place that ipse recommended a little while back?

Are you referring to Pine and Crane? It's not exactly Bowl-adjacent. In Silver Lake on Sunset just west of Maltman.

                1. re: Servorg

Not sure where you're coming from Cia Bob but if you're willing to stray that far from your destination, there is a host of options like L&E, Song, Barbrix, Silver Lake Ramen, etc.

              1. Messhall already too full for our group.
Would love to hear more about "that newer Chinese place that ipse recommended"

                1. re: Ciao Bob

Pine And Crane is located across Griffith Park Blvd. from El Condor, formerly El Conquistador.
If traveling that far, Barbrix on Hyperion @ Tracy works quite well, and Canele in Atwater would then also work.
Might try your favorite Thai restaurant in Thai Town for that matter.
Marouch or Carousel in Hollywood for Middle Eastern food.

                  1. re: Ciao Bob

Pine & Crane is good, but I think a bit of a trek (time-wise) to the Greek.

                    Your call.

Especially when Bob says that MessHall is already too full - how many in this group?
Or is it that it is fully booked, regardless of size of party?
But Hillhurst & Vermont as streets go are not major gourmet dining destinations, typically, but convenience always enters the discussion, and then the parameters change.
I like Sidewalk Grill on Vermont just north of the BofA on Vermont @ Prospect. BYO wine. Still a smallish trek up the hill, but your wallet has not been impaled in the process.
www.thesidewalkgrill.com for details Their salmon kebab is quite good, the sides equally so.

We are 8 folks...I did not make the call to MessHall so I do not know what the details were, but it is a popular country artist at the Greek that night, and I took my friend's word at face value and I didn't ask further.
I believe Pie and Crane would be good but it doesn't work for this group.
Still looking...prob will do Mother Dough.
