How does an article from 2008 help the OP find the fruit in Boston?

      1. re: foodieX2

Well, there is a link towards the end of the article to a grower in Florida who will ship the berries.

My gut says since the OP is asking for help on the internet they are aware they could order online but instead they took the time to post on the Boston Board asking where to buy in Boston. SMH

True, true....just trying to help OC out.

              1. re: cambridgedoctpr

Why? It constantly amazes me when someone ask a specific question and gets random replies or worse, just a link.

                1. re: cambridgedoctpr

Haha the link is literally the second thing on a google search for "miracle fruit" after the wikipedia entry. Thanks, I'm feeling lucky today!

          2. re: opinionatedchef

Thanks Opinionatedchef. An interesting article. I had never heard of it before.

          3. I think your best bet would be to call the Florida grower and ask if they sell via distribution or other retail channels and if so, if there are any in Boston.

The fresh fruit is doubtful since it has to be kept cold and even then has a short shelf life, but the powder and the tablet are probably what you should aim for since they are shelf stable...

            1. I have never seen miracle fruit in Boston, anywhere. There are lots of good speciality produce shops here (like Arax), but I doubt anyone up here carries such a perishable fruit. I hope I"m wrong and someone can help you find a source.

Otherwise, the sources in the NYT link Opinionated Chef sent might be a good place to start if you are willing to order.
