Pastry Courses -- Experiences/Recommendations in NY or London?

For as long as I could remember, I've been toying with the idea of culinary school, but I don't think it's practical, given time and cost. I've enrolled in a course at the Institute for Culinary Education in Manhattan to develop some baking skills, but while I've gained a lot from it, I want to do more, focusing on breads and more advanced pastries. Has anyone taken any classes they'd recommend? I'm considering taking an artisanal bread baking course and a breakfast pastries course through the International Culinary Center, also in New York. Has anyone had experience with those?

And! I'm also moving to London this year. Are there any good schools out there worth checking out for this sort of thing? I've seen apprenticeships are a possibility, but how viable are they for someone with a full-time job?
