Please help me find the name of this chinese cookie thing

  • 7

Hanging out in china town with my dad we used to get these cookie/bar things from chinese bakery google has turned up nothing.

the bar was a golden brown color if i remember right tasted like honey or caramel and nutty. It looked a lot like a rice crispy treat but I believe it was made of noodles and nuts.

I am sorry if this is really vague but you are my last resort to recreating a delicious treat and relive the child hood memories of china town.

  1. Could it be "Sa-chi-ma" Perhaps? It is written as "沙琪瑪" and usually is made from a mix or puffed rice, nuts etc. You can buy them in blocks and cut them yourself.

Not sure if it helps, but that is all I can think of.

dim sum bakeries carry fresh versions of "Sa-chi-ma. groceries stores carry so-cal and chinese/taiwan/hong kong versions. regular chinese pastry bakeries have them also.
my fav is the ones from socal.

      1. Wikipedia's page, in Chinese. But it does have a photo:
