Which Italian Restaurant for Sat. Nite?

Visiting son & meeting old school pal (5 of us in all) in Midtown East for Italian dinner. Any insights on these 4 options: DaNoi (E. 49th), Pescatore(2d Ave), Fiorini (E.56th) Morso (E. 59th)?

  1. Stay away from Pescatore. Apologies for my minimalist review, but it sucks!

    1. DaNoi is a Staten Island based chain red sauce American Italian. I would skip that too

I've eaten at Da Noi on Staten Island and found it quite good, but then I like all kinds of Italian, including "red sauce." To say it's a chain makes it sound like Olive Garden, which it certainly is not. For the OP's occasions -- 5 people likely with different tastes -- I would think it a good choice with something for everyone.

Oh don't get me wrong. I've eaten at both SI locations with big groups and enjoyed them both. But my feeling is that whatever happens in Staten Island should stay in Staten Island, including pizza (Goodfellas), excluding Sri Lankan

      2. This is a terrible terrible list. Are you open to other suggestions? How did you compile this?

I was looking Midtown East & the prices & reviews from various websites were overall pretty good. I'm open to suggestions.
