Cambodian dinner in Twin Cities

Hi... will be visiting from Chicago for a few days. Staying in downtown Minneapolis but will have a car. We love Asian but live near many great Vietnamese places. We've heard that Cambodian (not available in Chi) is delicious in Twin Cities. Can you recommend somewhere? Leaving tonight and will be in town through Saturday. Thanks

  1. Cheng Heng Restaurant
448 University Ave W, Saint Paul, MN 55103-1935
    My favorite..

    1. You also might want to consider Hmong food. I had a Hmong coworker who thought the term "Hmong cuisine" was a bit oxymoronic. But it does exist.

The best choices here (and an interesting side trip besides for the flea-market atmosphere) are at the Hmong International Market, which is not far from Cheng Heng; and Hmong Village (on the east side of St. Paul). The cafeteria at the Sun Foods market at University & Dale Streets also offers a variety of dishes. Depending on when you get there, a Hmong farmer's market may be in full swing in their parking lot; lots of different foods there too (though most are not cooked for consumption on-site).
