Photo Order and Grouping Question

So I just made this post in the LA board (http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/982621) and I accidentally uploaded one too many pictures. It happened to be the first picture, and I deleted it using the edit functionality. I noticed now that the second picture when I originally made the post, which is now the first picture, appears BOTH at the top of the post in a larger size AND among the group of pictures at the bottom of the post.

I actually LIKE this. Several times, when uploading multiple pictures, after the post finally completes, I have a moment of panic as I count the number of photos at the bottom and discover I'm short one, until I realize it's at the top.

I'm going to post the same 8 pictures to this post (so without the extra pic I accidentally uploaded in the post I mentioned above) and see if it has the same behavior.

  1. So, in this post, where the 8 pictures are uploaded "correctly" with no extras, you can see the first picture, of the grits, appear at the top of the post in larger size and do not appear with the other 7 at the bottom of the post. This is what I expected, though like I said, I actually prefer all the pics to be grouped at the bottom.

    1. I don't think this behavior occurs in comments. I just made this comment (http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/9810...), and I uploaded 3 photos, the first of which was an extra on purpose. It appeared at the top of the comment in larger size, with the other two at the bottom of the comment, as expected.

When I deleted that first (extra) photo, the now-first photo appears at the top of the comment in larger size, as expected, but does not appear on the bottom of the comment. Only the one remaining photo appears at the bottom.

Thanks for the detailed info on this photo editing behavior TheOffalo--we'll take a look.
