Verbena Leaves...

Anyone know in Montreal where to buy Verbena Leaves?

  1. Fresh or dried? In french its called verveine I think, used in herbal tea. I didn't know verbena but I know verveine (might help if you are talking to locals)

I'd try La bottine aux herbes on st-denis, near sherbrooke metro.

The recipe calls for fresh verbena leaves....

They seem to carry two kind (indian bio verbana and fragrant verbana). I'd give them a call to see if its fresh or dried. Worst come to worst they might have a good idea on where to source the fresh variant.

Another place to look would be the fresh herb vendors at atwater and jean-talon markets. Just ask for Verbena/Verveine and they might carry some.(There seems to be a place called "Les Jardins Mill'herbes" at Jean-Talon)

Thanks CaptCrunch! FYI, my favorite cereal although I could never pin point what the flavor of it is....Peanut Butterish but not really.

    2. If you can't find any and your recipe calls for infusing them in some liquid, just substitute lemon peel.

      1. The Spice Station has dried ones.
